About Us
When Marcus London opened the door to his real estate office back in 1933, he had now way of knowing that his grandson would be running the same-yet vastly different-business in 1991. Marcus London, Andy Stetelman's grandfather, started the office in 1933; his son-in-law, Mike Stetelman, took over in the 1950s, and Andy Stetelman took over in 1987, fresh out of college. London & Stetelman (the late Mike Stetelman bought out CL "Buddy" Kirkwood and took over in the 1970s), under the astute and guidance of Andy Stetelman, now focuses on commercial properties exclusively. "The change from residential to commercial properties is one of the best things we've ever done, and somewhat of a surprise," says President Andy Stetelman. "Initially we were a little hesitant, but the transition has far exceeded our expectations." And Stetelman should know all the nuances of the real estate business; he has been in the field since he was 15 years old.
"We feel specialization is the way of the future," Stetelman says, "When our company began [many] years ago, it was quite possible to 'do it all,' but not in today's market. After [so many] years in business, people know us," Stetelman says. "They've come to us to handle their properties, and we're pleased to have their vote of confidence."
Being in business for 83 years in the competitive real estate market is a rare feat; being in the business that long and still receiving local and state awards for excellence is a singular accomplishment. London and Stetelman Realtors has been a dominant force in the Hattiesburg commercial real estate market since day one, but has reached new levels of both financial and professional success thanks to the hard work of Andy Stetelman, a third generation realtor for the company.
Since 1987, Stetelman has been voted by the Hattiesburg Board of Realtors as the Realtor of the Year and one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the Bank of Mississippi as well as the Mississippi Commercial Realtor of the Year. One of the company's greatest assets is Stetelman's commitment to honesty and ethics and his experienced staff.
