Yesterday, Tate Reeves held a press conference to sign executive order number 1466. The bill introduced a 'Shelter in place' order commencing April 3rd at 5:00 PM and expiring April 20th at 8:00 AM.
In short, the bill will force non-essential businesses to close, and give law enforcement the authority necessary to enforce the shelter in place order. During this shelter in place order, evictions are suspended. This means that no one will be removed from their residence or place of business during this executive order. Rent, however, is not suspended, and will continue to accrue during the order.
